Romanian-born cellist Mihai Marica has performed with the Symphony Orchestra of Chile, Xalapa Symphony (Mexico), State Hermitage Orchestra (St. Petersburg, Russia), Jardins Musicaux Festival Orchestra (Switzerland), Louisville Orchestra, and Santa Cruz Symphony (USA). A dedicated chamber musician, he has appeared at Chamber Music Northwest, Norfolk, and Aspen music festivals. He recently joined the acclaimed Apollo Trio. Marica studied with Gabriela Todor in his native Romania, and with Aldo Parisot at the Yale School of Music, where he was awarded master’s and Artist Diploma degrees. He is an alum of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s Bowers Program. Mihai will be joining the Takács Quartet in September 2026.
